2012 Rousanne

2012 Rousanne

Tasting Notes

The 2012 Kimsey Vineyard Roussanne is subtle, yet lively. Figs, green tea, and lime zest entices you to explore further. Flavors of honey, stone, and apricot reward the palate. The oak is very subtle while the finish is long and leaves you craving more.

Winemakers Notes

Located in the southwestern most part of Ballard Canyon, Kimsey’s cool climate, and exceptional farming practices, are the true winemakers of this wine. Picked on a very cool November night, the grapes were whole cluster pressed after being hand sorted. Both fermented, and aged in 20% New French Oak, and 80% Neutral French Oak, this wine virtually made itself. Racked only before bottling, our Kimsey Roussanne aged sur-lie to incorporate texture and body into the wine. A youthful wine from a youthful vineyard, this wine will only improve from year to year.
